If anyone wants to add more, just message me for FTP details. If any tool relies on these FW links, again let me know and il keel paying the server bill/not mess round with the directories

put it on [files.fm](http://files.fm), 1 gb account by default, you can increase it by 1gig for every invitation. If you can reg fast with temp mails you can go up to 10 gigs in 10 minutes. No limit on downloads as far as i know. At least there was not.
[2017-07-14 15:56:55]
the_lord :
you can build single bin file fore both drone and RC by using all the sig files
or make two bin files
one for drone without 0600,1301 and 1407 modules
one for RC WITH 0600,1301,1407 modules
[2017-07-14 15:58:43]
kilrah :
easy enough if you open the cfg, you've got the "ac", "rc"and "gl" groups
[2017-07-14 15:59:00]

gl = goggles most likely
[2017-07-14 16:02:18]

what's the goggles ID in hex?
[2017-07-14 16:45:15]
freaky123 :
28 out of my head not in hex
[2017-07-14 16:45:30]
freaky123 :
2801 is 60 in hex
[2017-07-14 16:45:39]
freaky123 :
For the update you prolly want it
[2017-07-14 16:56:29]

i know
0x28 for drone
0x2D for RC
[2017-07-14 18:09:13]

[2017-07-15 10:58:25]

same here - and the more storage you've got the worse it becomes. When you have 500GB free you're careful, when you see 3TB free you don't think about it... until that QUICKLY gets to 500 again :smile:

I got around 10 fully working copters with 3 to 8 props lying around here and parts for 5 big ones stocked. All worth tons of money and not used since second kid and new job, now just messing with mavic & Sparky :slightly_smiling_face: Tears for the lost money and messed up room :-)))

no idea then - probably completey different

what we're connecting to on the other birds is kind of the "management computer", but there might not be one on the M600 and pretty much certainly won't on the A3
[2017-07-21 13:02:23]
kilrah :
so no idea how to deal with those - probably doesn't have much in common
[2017-07-21 13:07:46]

If i connect to COM port created when power on m600 i get this: <https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By3U0E6d-d-2Q1pnbzA2cGd6SU0>

kilrah :
what did dumldore do exactly?
[2017-07-21 13:10:21]
kilrah :
thing is, the methods for the other need both COM (to send commands to aircraft, not needed for backup) and FTP to get/send the files
[2017-07-21 13:10:33]
kilrah :
if there's no FTP... no idea how to access the files
[2017-07-21 13:18:28]
codeforge :
dumldore say "Device not connected". I will try to connect an A3 directly...
[2017-07-21 13:46:30]

check your hosts file.. .make sure you don't have entries from RedHerring
[2017-07-21 13:48:38]

@codeforge we are currently unsure how m100 and m600 work... it may not even have android on board at all unfortunately. I 99% sure standalone A3 has no android (which is how we get dji_system.bin files) if someone donates an A3, or M100 , M600 for access we can reverse them too. It may be possible over Teamviewer also
[2017-07-21 13:49:20]
hostile :
I am however very sure we CAN work out what we call "DUML" for A3 flashing...

What was/is the download speeds like?
[2017-07-24 20:45:56]
kilrah :
torrents are cool, didn't even need to leech from you - set torrent client not to auto start, set download folder to my copy of the repo, select all, verify - all at 100% and ready to seed :slightly_smiling_face:
[2017-07-24 20:46:57]
cs2000 :
Ahh sweet :wink: Looks like one person has leached part of one of the files, but yeah, lol. So my magnet links will still work for your files? never done it that way before

yes that was me before I went in the settings to disable autostart lol
[2017-07-24 20:54:47]

yes it's all figured out automatically

Are there ANY decent torrent seeding servers out there anymore?
[2017-07-24 21:00:09]

I used to make .zipfiles of important documents, firmware, etc and put them out on the bigger torrent networks

martinbogo :
along with lists of MD5's
[2017-07-24 21:00:41]

[2017-07-24 21:01:23]
kilrah :
you can find tracker lists, I found one on github that I’d have put in my torrents if noone had done it before tomorrow
[2017-07-24 21:01:53]
kilrah :
there’s quite a lot of offer for seedboxes too, so someone must be using them
[2017-07-24 21:02:03]
cs2000 :
what do you need? Thosw FW torrents are hosted on my dedicated seedbox with gigabit internet uplinks. I also used a tracker list to get it on as many as i could
[2017-07-24 21:02:14]
kilrah :
all good then
[2017-07-24 21:03:20]

0 peers
[2017-07-24 21:05:45]
cs2000 :
let me try it in my secondary seedbox

hans112 :
Hmm [let.me](http://let.me) try those
[2017-07-24 21:08:03]
cs2000 :
the .torrents should theoretically start faster, magnets work better with larger seed+peer counts, but worth a try...
[2017-07-24 21:09:47]
kilrah :
yes use the .torrents otherwise it will take ages to find the contents
[2017-07-24 21:10:16]
kilrah :
BTW I’m obviously not seeding anymore - broken PC isn’t much efficient :confused:
[2017-07-24 21:11:04]
cs2000 :
Haha thats true. Interesting though, ive added the .torrents onto my second box, no movement on %'s downloaded yet...
[2017-07-24 21:11:20]
kilrah :
I’m also soooo anticipating that I’ll swap PSU and it’ll end up being the mobo :confused:
[2017-07-24 21:12:30]
cs2000 :
hope not!
[2017-07-24 21:15:09]

[2017-07-24 21:17:30]
hans112 :
Hehehehe same here. Don't know how long it will / should take... But we'll see
[2017-07-24 21:18:50]
cs2000 :
il manually add the files onto my second box anyway, double the peers. Maybe its just a case of waiting for trackers to update? who knows
[2017-07-24 21:25:18]
hans112 :
Strange ... 0/0 Peers. If it stays like that tomorrow morning I will see for a different solution :thinking_face:
[2017-07-24 21:28:50]
kilrah :
let me pull them up on my little udoo x86
[2017-07-24 21:28:54]

that can stay on
[2017-07-24 21:34:35]

Since they are the same, why are they separated into 2 categories and the naming convention is different? Just trying to document accurately.

The dji_system.bin files are the firmwares as packaged by DJI and that correspond to release versions, i.e. “matching” sets of firmwares for all subcomponents. The firm_cache is all individual component firmware files found in them.
[2017-07-25 14:02:25]
dpitman :
That makes sense. But the files in the repo are .cfg.sig and not .bin thus my confusion.

Sure. I was trying to tidy up the readme in the firm_cache rep is where these questions are coming from. It sounds like the file listing, names and such in that repo should be focused on the module files and not so much the complete fw files leaving that for the dji_sytem.bin repo...maybe? Thanks for the help.

the funny thing is when the RC connects to drone, it only broadcast on 5.8G
[2017-07-30 12:18:15]

That might be some of the cause of poor range for the spark -
[2017-07-30 12:18:17]

i already disassembled the spark RC before i dump the FW and found internal antenna

@the_lord "also when the RC connects to drone, the drone stops broadcasting its WiFi" this is because the RC is the Access point, and the drone switches into being wpa_supplicant, instead of hostapd

Just noticed the shiny new V01.04.0000 FW for goggles and the Mavic, torrents are now live at the links below. Seems good now that we get quickshots (using this FW and the new app too), but im not keen on moving off of FW .700 so i can keep my dissabled NFZ (not that i fly in them, just nice to know i can). ed209 :
Anyone see anything in the modules or parameters elating to a 58,xxx ft limit for Mavic? Guys are reporting that the rc disconnected immediately and once signal was regained, the bird was already on it’s way back. If they turned around and pushed forward again, it would happen again. Seems there is some hard coded distance limit goin on.
[2017-09-26 02:55:35]
czokie :
53753.281 feet is 16384 meters - so it doesnt sound like a boundry based on the data type
[2017-09-26 02:56:22]
czokie :
but who knows what the underlying data type is - Do they measure distance in centimeters under the hood?
[2017-09-26 03:00:51]
jezzab :
the height is a Int16 in the app
[2017-09-26 03:00:57]
ed209 :
Where u getting 53753.281 ft? The posts i saw were all high 58s. 58,700ft ish
[2017-09-26 03:01:15]
czokie :
I was just picking binary numbers and counting up in meters
[2017-09-26 03:01:19]
czokie :
it was a guess
[2017-09-26 03:01:26]
ed209 :
Ah ok
[2017-09-26 03:01:38]
jezzab :
over 3276m it becomes negative as it rolls over
[2017-09-26 03:01:48]
jezzab :
decimeters
[2017-09-26 03:01:54]
czokie :
So thats height - what about distance?
[2017-09-26 03:02:13]
jezzab :
Oh i dont know lol
[2017-09-26 03:02:23]
ed209 :
Was curious if maybe it was something set in the app too
[2017-09-26 03:02:55]
czokie :
My gut tells me its just the maximum of the variable - and its having a spaz attack
[2017-09-26 03:06:16]
jezzab :
Hmm 16384m is half of the Int16 max of 32768
[2017-09-26 03:06:31]
ed209 :
So the height lnt16 is what actually? If the height limit is set in the parameters is thr lnt16 the setting in the app? I havent delved into the app yet but maybe I should.
[2017-09-26 03:06:35]
jezzab :
15 bits of it anyway
[2017-09-26 03:06:55]
jezzab :
Signed Integer 16 bit
[2017-09-26 03:06:56]
czokie :
Like I said - just guessing :slightly_smiling_face:
[2017-09-26 03:07:14]
jezzab :
so a min of -32768 and max of 32768
[2017-09-26 03:07:19]
czokie :
I mean - turning off the radio - that is not like a planned response....
[2017-09-26 03:07:36]
jezzab :
I agree @czokie, its a max value for sure
[2017-09-26 03:07:39]
czokie :
@jezzab - What is the resolution of the distance? Is it stored in meters?
[2017-09-26 03:07:40]
czokie :
:slightly_smiling_face:
[2017-09-26 03:07:54]
czokie :
not in terms of parameters - but positional awareness of distance from home
[2017-09-26 03:08:09]
jezzab :
im trying to work that out
[2017-09-26 03:08:26]
jezzab :
it would be an UInt i would think. There is no need for negative numbers?
[2017-09-26 03:08:46]
jezzab :
if its was uint16 then it would be ~~65534~~ 65535
[2017-09-26 03:08:50]
jezzab :
so its not that
[2017-09-26 03:08:54]
ed209 :
I havent been lucky enough to hit the distance limit yet but some of my fellow comrades have and it’s putting a damper on the distance challenges
[2017-09-26 03:08:55]
jezzab :
and uint8 is too small
[2017-09-26 03:10:26]
hostile :
heh integer overflow!
[2017-09-26 03:10:48]
jezzab :
weird coz is like a uint15
[2017-09-26 03:10:54]
jezzab :
if there was such a thing lol
[2017-09-26 03:11:00]
czokie :
But again - what is the resolution of distance
[2017-09-26 03:11:04]
czokie :
Meters?
[2017-09-26 03:11:06]
jezzab :
true true
[2017-09-26 03:11:07]
czokie :
Milimeters?
[2017-09-26 03:11:14]
ed209 :
Lol
[2017-09-26 03:11:23]
jezzab :
unless its 500mm?
[2017-09-26 03:11:45]
jezzab :
then you could halve the 32768
[2017-09-26 03:11:47]
jezzab :
would work
[2017-09-26 03:11:50]
czokie :
I know there is no scientific proof - but for an AC to shut off comms at a repeatable distance, that sounds like a limit
[2017-09-26 03:11:56]
czokie :
not from software
[2017-09-26 03:12:04]
czokie :
but from a variable doing weird shit
[2017-09-26 03:12:05]
jezzab :
That number is waaaaay to coincidental
[2017-09-26 03:12:26]
jezzab :
I reckon its 0.5m increments
[2017-09-26 03:12:30]
ed209 :
2 guys reported the logs showing 58,900ft max distance
[2017-09-26 03:13:05]
czokie :
Well - you could always join me in ~ios_ipa_reversing trying to get frida happening - so we can peek in real time? :slightly_smiling_face:
[2017-09-26 03:13:22]
jezzab :
not that then
[2017-09-26 03:13:35]
jezzab :
if thats the number thats 17952.72m
[2017-09-26 03:14:00]
jezzab :
hmmm
[2017-09-26 03:14:21]
ed209 :
The signal just drops off suddenly, as if they cut the transmission power. A couple seconds later the connection comes back, but the drone is already coming full speed back and covered some ground. It is different from normal connection loss, as there is no delay in the RTH. Usually you have a little time to get connection back before it starts back. It comes immediately. You can turn around and try again and you hit that same spot and again signal is gone with RC connect lost. I would normally think it's a signal issue, but Keith saw exactly the same thing 3 times at the same distance I saw it, just below 58,800ft or 18000 meters.
[2017-09-26 03:14:30]
ed209 :
Here’s another guys experience
[2017-09-26 03:15:51]
jezzab :
well height they do in 100mm increments. hence the max display of 3276 (which is 3276.8)
[2017-09-26 03:16:33]
jezzab :
its magic lol
[2017-09-26 03:16:35]
jezzab :
no idea
[2017-09-26 03:16:52]
jezzab :
Report it as a bug lol
[2017-09-26 03:17:07]
czokie :

[2017-09-26 03:17:15]

Hahaha
[2017-09-26 03:17:42]
ed209 :
They dont give money out for bugs. They’d be bankrupt
[2017-09-26 03:19:01]
ed209 :
I’m gonna see if maybe some log data would be fruitful. I’ll ask the guys.
[2017-09-26 03:20:16]
jezzab :
Out of curiosity, Does it do it on iOS and Android?
[2017-09-26 03:20:41]
ed209 :
One guy I know is kn iOS the other 2 I’m not sure. Will ask that too
[2017-09-26 03:21:23]
czokie :
There is the bug bounty @ed209 - Havnt heard of it? :slightly_smiling_face:
[2017-09-26 03:22:07]
czokie :
But even though there is that program - you are right - they dont give money out anyway - even for legit finds
[2017-09-26 03:22:09]
ed209 :
I thought they meant like security vulnerabilities not something like this
[2017-09-26 03:22:43]
czokie :
We dont know yet the implications of over-running that variable - who knows, it could unlock pandoras box
[2017-09-26 03:22:52]
czokie :
during those few minutes while it is radio silence?
[2017-09-26 03:22:54]

[2017-09-26 03:23:00]

ed209 :
I’ll try and collect more info and bring it back here. I’m really surprised about this limit. We never saw this with the P3
[2017-09-26 03:28:46]
jezzab :
I would have thought if it was the AC side then the bird would struggle to RTH
[2017-09-26 03:29:02]
jezzab :
So im feeling its the app. As a guess
[2017-09-26 03:29:20]
jezzab :
it would be good to d/load the log file
[2017-09-26 03:29:28]

and watch the distance value
[2017-09-26 03:29:37]
czokie :
Exactly
[2017-09-26 03:30:40]
czokie :
Imagine this...
[2017-09-26 03:30:51]
czokie :
The next piece of memory is what we could call the "doomsday" variable...
[2017-09-26 03:30:57]
czokie :
in the aircraft.
[2017-09-26 03:31:08]
czokie :
Our variable is counting up.... 1 meter (or milimeter) at a time....
[2017-09-26 03:31:31]
czokie :
Not sure what they compile with - but when the doomsday varaiable is not 0, it causes the FC to reboot....
[2017-09-26 03:31:33]
czokie :
IN FLIGHT?
[2017-09-26 03:31:38]
czokie :
That'd be hilarious
[2017-09-26 03:32:02]
jezzab :
There would be some tears best case
[2017-09-26 03:32:27]

So - AC versus app...
[2017-09-26 03:32:30]

I was thinking AC
[2017-09-26 03:32:37]
jezzab :
Johnson and Johnson Variable
[2017-09-26 03:32:54]
czokie :
coz if it was app - you'd see something locally.... if it was a crazy error
[2017-09-26 03:33:00]
czokie :
App crash... or some warning or error....
[2017-09-26 03:33:21]
jezzab :
To stir up the mix.... what if its the RC
[2017-09-26 03:33:29]
ed209 :
It’s super strange
[2017-09-26 03:33:44]
jezzab :
This all on a Mavic these tests?
[2017-09-26 03:33:46]
czokie :
Interesting - but possible
[2017-09-26 03:34:05]
czokie :
since the RC has the distance (that it puts on goggles via HDMI for example on a P4P)
[2017-09-26 03:34:11]
jezzab :
exactly
[2017-09-26 03:34:13]
czokie :
and if RC crashes.... and reboots
[2017-09-26 03:34:24]
czokie :
AC detects loss of signal
[2017-09-26 03:34:30]
czokie :
and initiates RTH
[2017-09-26 03:36:08]
jezzab :
And I wonder if it does it if the display is metric not imperial
[2017-09-26 03:36:43]
ed209 :
All on mavics. I’ll ask the guys to tell me if they noticed if rc rebooted or not. From what I gather, no.
[2017-09-26 03:36:52]

[2017-09-26 03:36:55]

[2017-09-26 19:56:18]
nswenson :
I'm the one who was flying when hitting max distance. In the DAT file we see that the RC signal went from 100% strength to zero immediately. The controller did not restart, just a complete loss of connection until a few seconds later when Mavic was already in RTH mode coming home.
[2017-09-26 19:57:13]
nswenson :
Both myself and another guy see the exact same behavior just below 58,800ft.
[2017-09-26 19:58:04]
nswenson :
The craft reached like 59,500ft, but that was just because it took some time to stop and initiate RTH most likely.
[2017-09-26 20:16:07]
nswenson :
58,789.58ft precisely at the time connection was dropped.
[2017-09-26 20:21:36]
hostile :
that is weird shit @nswenson
[2017-09-26 20:24:24]
jan2642 :
It looks like something crashes because of an overflow (?) That could explain the sudden drop in RC signal: the device is actually ‘gone’.
[2017-09-26 20:24:42]
hostile :
yeah integer overflow was my first thought
[2017-09-26 20:24:47]
hostile :
it would fit DJI coding style
[2017-09-26 21:34:15]
jezzab :
I think you will find the dji_sys, or what ever program etc crashed and it auto restarted. I just tested this on the bench. Was adb shell logged into the RC. Connected to the AC with the RC and then typed `reboot` on the RC.
The RC didnt change anything on the screen at all nor did it beep.

Haha, i did a lot of this unit & limit guessing in my (old old) reengineering times. My hardest nut was a drum scanner using 1/10'th of Millimeter as a unit, MAN i was p*ssed after i finally came to that conclusion… Keep on guessing, its entertaining :wink:
[2017-09-27 08:53:21]
jezzab :
Just so no one gets funny, the `height:1277` in the snippet above is in decimeter's so its 127.7m. The distance though seeeeeeeems to be in whole metres
[2017-09-27 15:31:09]
b_hargis :
It was posted in another channel that there is an error message in the log when it RTH's, which makes me think it isn't an overflow, but instead nearing one. If you calculate the distance in delta degrees of lat/long, which I think is feasible as this is the unit of measurement it gets from the GPS, not feet or meters, then you get a possible overflow at 61,159 feet for a 24-bit counter measuring nanodegrees using a conversion of 10,000km per 90 degrees of circumfrence.

still not sure where the best place to post these is, but the latest spark 701 firmware is now available as a torrent at the usual place <http://dji.polybotes.feralhosting.com/DJI-Firmware/>. However there is one important change.
Underneath the usual torrents directory is now going to be a Firmware Files folder. This will contain all the BIN's and TAR files for all the firmware that im making available as a torrent for if you just need a file now and dont want to wait around for the torrent.
[2017-11-01 14:58:05]
cs2000 :
Of course, the torrents are fed physically from a seperate location, and keeping them alive helps with resiliancy, so if you can seed a torrent and you dont immediatly need the files, it would be appreciated it you could do so, but if you just need a file NOW, grab it from <http://dji.polybotes.feralhosting.com/DJI-Firmware/BIN>
(im uploading now)
[2017-11-12 00:32:28]
d95gas :
@cs2000 I'm back off hols now so will upload and seed these torrent tomorrow. As a matter of interest, whats the one "V01.04.0000_Mavic_dji_system_NO_FC_UPDATE.bin" about? in the FW MODS directory?
[2017-11-12 12:25:20]

exactly what it says, doesn’t contain the FC firmware so that stays on the old version
[2017-11-12 16:07:39]
d95gas :
ok thanks. I have had the files seeding since approx midnight last night, I have just had to close down Utorrent, but will run it up later tonight and will probably leave running for the week whilst I am away

ahh never mind. I was expecting it to need the 2020-01 PRAK, Seems it uses the older one.

No worries! I think we do not have the right PRAK key for veriyfing the signature but that should not matter. You can force the decryption with --force-continue.

Ahh yes it's PRAK-2019-09. Missed your edit

Next step is unpack, then split, then you get another IM*H and a couple of squashfs
[2022-03-26 16:54:11]
tmbinc :
```
import lz4.frame
import sys
d = open(sys.argv[1], "rb").read()
open(sys.argv[2], "wb").write(lz4.frame.decompress(d))
```
(But I'm pretty sure there's a tool somewhere to do this.)
[2022-03-26 16:57:25]
tmbinc :
and to split
```
import sys
magics = [(bytes.fromhex("00 00 00 00 68 73 71 73"), 4), (b"IM*H", 0)]
img = open(sys.argv[1], "rb").read()
offsets = [0]
while True:
no = []
for s, o in magics:
print(offsets)
next_offset = img.find(s, offsets[-1] + 1)
if next_offset != -1:
next_offset += o
no.append(next_offset)
if not no:
break
next_offset = min(no)
offsets.append(next_offset)
offsets.append(len(img))
for i, start in enumerate(offsets[:-1]):
end = offsets[i + 1]
open(sys.argv[1] + "_%d" % i, "wb").write(img[start:end])
```
Lame, but does the job.
[2022-03-26 16:57:51]

Note that there's `tests/test_dji_imah_fwsig_rebin1.sh`. It stored the drone-to-key assignments, and as part of the test extracts sub-IMaHs.
Normally it deletes everything after the test, but there is "-sc" param to keep things.
Easiest way to extract firmwares in bulk is to put them into a copy of `test_imah_all.sh`, apply a small patch which disables cleaning, and run that.
